Ad Performance

I don't know why I have struggled so much on this. This week we are learning about optimizing ad performance and ensuring we are getting the best return on our investment. I have modified my keywords, tried to make them more specific and less broad but for some reason my quality scores will not increase. Maybe because my product is limited I am limited on my keywords, I don't know. I will keep changing, modifying and narrowing down my options in an attempt to get the best scores and hopefully get a sale on my site. This week we also learned about conversion and how to track it. For me, my conversion is an actual sale. Some people it is newsletter sign ups, clicks, or just visitors to their page. Having people visit my page does nothing for me, except get my name out there but that doesn't do much. I need people to purchase a tumbler in order for me to get anything from my site. So I will work on my keywords in an attempt to get the right customers to my site to purchase ...

Google Analytics

T his week we were able to connect our websites to Google Analytics. This will help us track the things such as the location from which our traffic came from (Google Ad, direct site, FaceBook, etc), as well as what pages were visited and how long the customer was on each page, as so one. I am excited to see the information that I am going to obtain from this and look forward to applying changes to my site to help best suit my customer. I also was able to work more on changing my website from Kelsey's Kreations to Kelsey Davis Designs. I look forward to running Google Ads next week and seeing the results from that as well.

Google Ads

T his week was a rough week for me due to a medical procedure. When I was able to get on my computer I felt like I struggled with focusing and actually learning anything. I was able to obtain some information this week and I will share them here to ensure I retain the information for the future. It is time for our Google ad words to start. I had a hard time trying to come up with all the different options for my website without it being too generic. If I am not specific enough, I can get people clicking on my ad that do not apply. For example, I do machine embroidery but there is also hand embroidery. I have to make sure I don't get people clicking on my site that are looking for something different. On the other hand, if my Google ad words are too specific, I won't get any clicks at all. Hopefully I find the happy balance between the two and am successful with driving traffic to my website. As a side note, a few weeks ago while doing research for my business I found out...

I made my own website!!!

I was really worried about this whole creating my own website from scratch thing. My husband is currently in the CIT (Computer Information Technology) program in school and I've watching him type in random letters and words and out pops a beautiful side. I don't know how to code, it is the most confusing thing to me so I was petrified thinking I would have to do the same thing. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was with the help of site builders. Am I still learning? OH YES! And I will be learning for a long time but I have made quite good progress and will continue to do so. I know that my site isn't going to be perfect the first go round, I would hope that no ones is perfect. I am actually excited for what I am going to learn in this class that will help my business continue to grow. It is still a work in progress but check it out here: http://kelseys-kreations.com.
