T his week I have been trying to think about design for my site. I find myself to be a crafty individual whom would have gone to school for interior design or architecture had it not been for the fact that I dislike school so much. I am also a little on the OCD side. Because of those things I find it hard to make decisions quickly. I have looked at different layouts, color choices, photo options, etc. and I just can't seem to decide. I know my design will change as I go along. The current color palette I have decided on may change once I get pictures of my product on my site. Actually, I am positive it will, but that is part of a business. Nothing comes out perfect the first time (except for the Savior)! I don't know why this week was so rough for me. For some reason I couldn't figure out that I needed an additional site to host my website. Once I finally had it figured out, then I had to wrap my brain around trying to figure out which was the best host site. I went from choosing a specific site builder site, to deciding on a different one, and then changing my mind once again. There is an appeal to me to choose a site builder like Wix or Weebly because of their ease of "plug and play" websites. I do not know how to code, the only time (also the last time) I did anything like that was when I had a MySpace page... yeah, that long ago! The thought of having to create a website from scratch frightens me to no end. But I am stepping out of my comfort range. Based on cost, bonus credits, etc., I have decided to build by site using WordPress and use IONOS as my host. T his week we learned about affiliate and drop shipping as business options.  At first I couldn't figure out what all the hype was about on the affiliate marketing.  You place an affiliate link on your webpage to drive traffic to that affiliate.  When a customer purchases something from that affiliate through your link, you get a percentage of that sale.  I don't feel that I could ever have a popular enough site to drive enough traffic to that affiliate to make me a steady, constant revenue.  Yes, drop shipping also has its con's but I feel that if I had to choose between the two, it would be the option I chose.  Next week we have to choose a product for our website.  I have thought about expanding my Etsy business to a different platform, though at the same time I've been thinking a lot about slowing down on that business, or expanding to other product options.  I am having a tough time deciding which will be my final decision and I only hav...

F or this new semester I have been tasked with creating my own business. This week I have had to act as if I did not know what business that was going to be but in reality I already have a business in mind. I currently have a small Etsy business but want to expand that business outside of Etsy. If I do not have to pay Etsy any more royalties for using their site, that would be fantastic. I also believe I can get more business if I am able to sell in multiple platforms. So off I go on expanding my business in bigger and better ways.
